Aaron Brunet won Masterchef NZ in 2013 with his creative and wholesome approach to food. He writes a plant-based food column in the NZ Herald Bite magazine, runs cooking workshops and gives talks about the future of super-healthy food. As a plant-powered guy, Aaron is one of the new breed of passionate foodies who have embraced eating for wellness and vitality as well as great taste. What really drives his mission? Aaron says: “I’m super-inspired by the idea that the single most powerful thing we can do to reduce our carbon emissions and improve our health is to eat more plants more often! As famous food writer Michael Pollan says, ‘eat food, not too much, mostly plants’”. In mid 2017 Aaron took his Bite column in a new direction by visiting and cooking with everyday Kiwis in their homes then sharing their experience, with the aim of showing that plantbased food is completely normal and natural – as he says “after all it’s just food, and if it tastes good it tastes good!”.

Aaron’s plantpower cooking workshops are an opportunity to learn from a masterchef winner who practises what he preaches.
He says, “I’ve been living and loving the plant-based lifestyle for over two years and getting a feel for what really works. Now I’m ready to share my favourite recipes and inspirations with you. It really doesn’t matter if you’re completely new to plant-based food or if you’ve been eating this way for years, I’d love you to join me and spend some fun time together cooking, talking and making magic in the kitchen. My classes are playful, educational and delicious, and full of real warmth! I truly love connecting with people and sharing the delight I get from making healthy food taste amazing.’
